Project Overview
Digital Communication: 5 Steps to Communicate with Clarity and Care is a self-paced Articulate Rise course designed to help professionals navigate the nuances of virtual communication. Through five practical steps—ranging from identifying tone to reflecting on digital habits—learners build awareness, empathy, and intentionality in how they connect across platforms.
The Challenge
In fast-paced digital environments, messages are often misinterpreted, tone is unclear, and inclusive practices are overlooked. Many professionals struggle to choose the right channel, express empathy, or maintain meeting etiquette—leading to confusion, disengagement, or even conflict
The Solution
To address these gaps, I designed a visually structured, interactive course using Articulate Rise and Canva. Each of the five steps is introduced with tailored visuals and reinforced through learner-driven interactions. I created a cohesive layout with visual borders to distinguish each tip, and embedded opportunities for reflection and application to deepen understanding. The course emphasizes clarity, care, and inclusivity—making abstract communication principles feel practical and personal.
The Results
Learners walk away with a clearer sense of how their digital habits impact others, and actionable strategies to communicate with empathy and precision. The course has been praised for its intuitive flow, emotionally resonant tone, and real-world relevance—making it a valuable resource for onboarding, manager coaching, or team development.

Have you ever read an email or message and thought, “Wait—what did they really mean?” It struck me how often written communication leaves room for misinterpretation. That realization sparked an idea: what if we could turn those everyday moments of confusion into a meaningful learning experience? To explore it, I sketched a rough outline in Canva—mapping out how the training might unfold and how each section could build on the last. My goal was to design a clear, intuitive journey that helps learners navigate the content with ease, while staying grounded in real-world relevance.
After sketching the initial outline in Canva, I transitioned into building a visual storyboard to shape each tip. This phase was all about creating flow—ensuring the course moved seamlessly from one insight to the next, while weaving in interactive moments that invited learners to apply what they’d just learned. Once the storyboard captured both the structure and spirit of the experience, I was ready to move into development.
I dove into course development using Articulate Rise, bringing the storyboard to life. To keep the visuals cohesive and purposeful, I sourced, created, and edited graphics using a mix of Canva shapes and images—tailoring each one to reinforce the learning experience. I designed a visual border to distinguish each of the five tips, giving the course a clean, structured feel. Within Rise, I layered in interactive elements to help learners actively engage with each tip and deepen their understanding through application.
