The Challenge
Despite having access to TaxDome—a secure, user-friendly portal for uploading documents and communicating with tax professionals—many of Mike’s clients preferred in-person paperwork delivery. This habit unintentionally delayed tax filings and often led to extensions, creating workflow inefficiencies and client frustration.
The Solution
I designed a learner-centered eLearning course that demystifies TaxDome and builds user confidence through guided practice. The course includes:
• Step-by-step video walkthroughs of key TaxDome features
• Interactive activities to reinforce learning and reduce tech anxiety
• A downloadable guidebook for ongoing reference and support
The Outcome
The course is expected to increase portal usage, streamline document sharing, and help Mike meet his goal of completing tax returns within two weeks—without requiring extensions. More importantly, it empowers clients to engage confidently with digital tools, improving both their experience and the business’s efficiency

The project began with a rough outline I sketched in Canva. I used it to map out the full learner experience—from start to finish—making sure each step in the five-module process was clearly laid out. My goal was to visualize how everything would flow together, so learners could move through the course with clarity and confidence.
After sketching out the initial outline in Canva, I moved into drafting a written storyboard to map out each design point in detail. From there, I created a script for every process, making sure each step was clearly defined and sequenced in the right order. This helped me stay organized and ensured the final course would guide learners through each task seamlessly.
Once I wrapped up the storyboard and finished editing five videos in Camtasia, I moved into building the course in Articulate Storyline. For the visuals, I pulled together graphics using a mix of Canva elements and screenshots from the TaxDome portal to create a realistic simulation. I customized everything—shapes, icons, layouts—to make sure the look and feel matched the course content and gave learners an authentic experience.
