Project Overview
The objective of this project was to improve the productivity and engagement in virtual meetings. After speaking with an HR Director for a fully remote company, she shared her frustrations with employee behavior during the company's weekly virtual meetings. The company had not instituted any guidelines for meeting behaviors. As a result, many of her employees did not use the camera correctly or engage in conversations. This all led to non-productive meetings.
The Challenge
The CEO was not addressing this issue. This resulted in employees not following basic meeting etiquette. The employees were not engaged, often requiring their supervisors to intervene frequently during the meetings and respond to the CEO questions. After working with some of the accountants, I knew that they would not be receptive to a typical training course. I needed to come up with a way to share the information in a more engaging manner.
The Solution
To overcome these challenges, I devised an interactive eLearning module with engaging features using Articulate Storyline. In the past, no training has been provided during the onboarding process regarding meeting etiquette. With this program, the HR Director would be provided with an opportunity to provide training to new employees and set company expectations for their meeting behavior.
The Results
Anticipated results involve decreasing the necessity for supervisors to intervene and to increase employee productivity and engagement during staff meetings.

The idea for this project sparked after I read an article on virtual meeting etiquette in CareerAddict. It got me thinking about how to turn those insights into an engaging learning experience. I started by sketching a rough outline in Canva to visualize how the quiz would flow and how each part needed to be structured. My goal was to create a clear, intuitive path that would guide learners through the content in a way that felt both practical and easy to follow.
After creating the initial outline in Canva, I moved into drafting a written storyboard to shape each quiz question. I used Microsoft Copilot to help brainstorm descriptive titles for each character and craft clear explanations of the behaviors being addressed. From there, I defined different levels of etiquette and set cutoff points to guide how responses would be scored. This helped ensure the quiz felt both fair and insightful, giving learners a chance to reflect on their choices and understand the impact of their actions.
Once the storyboard was complete, I jumped into course development using Articulate Storyline. I sourced, created, and edited all the graphics using a mix of shapes and images from Canva, tailoring each visual to enhance the learning experience and keep things cohesive. To add a touch of energy and fun to the quiz section, I downloaded an upbeat music track that helped set a more playful tone and keep learners engaged. At the end of the course, I included the original Career Addict article as a reference, giving learners a chance to revisit the source material and deepen their understanding.
